Mark's Minolta Maxxum 50 Page

2004. One of the last film cameras Minolta made, along with the Maxxum 70. Incredibly light 335 grams, electronic shutter 30 seconds to 1/2000th. Programmed, aperture priority, shutter priority and manual exposure modes. Motorized film handling, auto load and rewind, or manual rewind. Auto-focusing, using any Maxxum lens made. Built-in flash, and the Dynax hot shoe for external flash. Supports TTL auto flash modes. DX coding or manual ASA / ISO setting. Uses 2 CR2 batteries. As you can see, it comes in a very plasticky silver finish. The rotary dial on the front selects apertures and shutter speeds, or menu items. The dial on top selects program exposure modes and sub-menus. Mine appears to be in perfect condition, will post test pics when available.

7-2-23 First test roll done. Looks better than the Nikon N90s that was developed at the same time. Everything worked fine using several A-mount lenses. I don't know what went wrong with the date imprinter, maybe that's why someone dumped it on Goodwill. I paid more for the IR remote control on Ebay than I did for the camera. Nobody wanted it, which is great. These were shot on Arista EDU 100 ASA. Wish it was black, but it's still a great carry camera. The trash can pic reflects my deep burning hatred of people who are too lazy to walk a few lousy feet to dump their trash.
